Aerospace Simulation and Modeling Minimize

CRM Solutions has expertise with an extensive suite of CFD flow-solver, grid-generation, and post processing packages, enabling us to provide a wide variety of CFD services.

Problem Class:

Grid Generation:

Provide inviscid or viscous grids beginning with CAD (Pro-E), drawings, IGES, Cart3D tri, or STL files. Can produce adaptive Cartesian, structured (Chimera if requested), and unstructured (fully tetrahedral or mixed element) topologies. Parallel processing allows for generation of meshes with over 100 million cells on local hardware.

Rapid generation of aerodynamic databases:

Provide datasets containing data extracted from thousands of CFD computations obtained on the CRM in-house Linux parallel computing cluster using adaptive Cartesian Euler solvers. CRM hardware can produce up to hundreds of flow solutions per week on grids with several million elements.

High Fidelity Viscous Solutions:

Local Hardware allows the solution of viscous problems with over 100 million cells or nodes. Our suite of flow solvers provides a wide variety of turbulence modeling.

Chemically Reacting Flow:

Two solvers (structured and unstructured) are available which provide multi-species capability for frozen, finite rate, or equilibrium chemistry flow.

Multi-Phase Flow:

Ability to model multi-phase flows with pre-built models including ice/water and aluminum particles using both Lagrangian and Eulerian methodology. Additional models can be developed upon request.

Moving Body Simulations:

For both prescribed and integrated 6-DOF body motion. Use of Chimera (Overset) meshes for both viscous structured and unstructured meshes. Models allow for fully-coupled or one-way chimera coupling. For rapid turn around, a quasi-unsteady inviscid 6-DOF modeling capability can be utilized.

Fluid-Structure Coupling:

Software allows for CFD solver to be coupled with structures model to deform solid surface grids in response to load prediction.
